Job Summary
The Financial Controller oversees the Accounting and Finance activities and ensures that ledgers accurately reflect money coming in and out of the company. He/she is responsible for the financial
reporting to management and the Board of Directors and at the same time, the Financial Controller ensures that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with Philippine Accounting Standards (PAS) and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and applicable national and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Establishes and implements internal controls.
- Participates in budgeting processes
- Manages financial transactions
- Streamlines accounting functions and operations
- Ensures adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent audits.
- Serve as one of the trustees and oversee administration and financial reporting of the Company’s Retirement Plan.
- Evaluates and manages financial risks
- Recommends changes to improve financial performance
- Monitors expenditures and ensure that such expenditures are disbursed in accordance with company policies & General Accounting Standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of BS Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Business Law, Financial Management or equivalent
- Certified Public Accountant
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in equivalent role
- Proven experience in Controllership.
- Strong background in finance and business.
- Good communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals
- Compliance oriented
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Analytical skills
